The weather is starting to let up a bit. They predicted upper 90's today. But it was nowhere near that when I got out the door around 1pm. It was comfortable most of the way, but there were areas of hot spots. I felt ok going out the door. Sufficiently warmed up by the end of OTR. My right knee had a hint of soreness in the start, but went away in a few miles. I decided to go up the Alpine forest to keep the recon thoughts in my mind. Plus the extra climbing I'll need for the GranFondo. I had no signs of cramping today. When I reached the summit of Banducci, I put in my mind that the remainder of the ride was going to zip by pretty quick. And that it did. I made my way to and around SS fairly quick. I think I was off by about 2 minutes on a good paced ride. So, I was paying attention to the time. The last climb went quick. I hammered the first 1/4 mile or so, then settled into a steady tempo. No heroics over the top. From there it was recover, traffic mitigation and the push over Mariposa. Concentration was good today, few lapses. I had stuff to think about... Ailments consisted of slight right knee soreness that dissipated within the first 10 minutes of the ride. Some mild soreness in the lower back. I was stretching constantly. Balance and form felt good. Practicing the push and scoop. Gear is working great.
