Decided to do the new Salem Bike Club Monster Cookie route today instead of the actual event day, April 28. Weather not looking so great for the event. Started from Keizer Rapids Park instead of McNary High School since school was in session. That added about 1.25 miles total. The first few miles meanders through Keizer to Kezier Station and past Volcano Stadium via some residential streets and bike paths. Cross I-5 on Quinaby Rd and then continue to Brooklake Rd and Labish Center. The first scheduled rest stop is the Willamette Pie Company (mile 18). Nice tailwind from Labish Center to the Pie Company. The next 11 miles goes to Silverton then to the Gallon House Covered Bridge. Plenty of headwind on that segment. Mile 32 is Mt. Angel and 32.8 is John F Kennedy School for another rest stop. More crosswind and headwind into Monitor. The next 5.4 mile stretch is on Woodburn-Monitor Rd then Monitor-McKee Rd. Some wind advantage on this part, but the road is a little rough. Tailwind on Howell Prairie Rd (mile 43.3) for a few miles. The final 12.5 miles covers the same stretch heading out of Keizer. Retrace the course back to Keizer Rapids Park. Overall, the climbing is tame, but the miles of crosswind and headwind more than make up for it.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
