A ride on the NH Ice Cream Trail to Schoodacs Coffee, Warner, NH. Ride begins and ends at Riverside Park, Warner, NH. Please, put the idea of riding your bike on the skate park entirely out of your head. Whatever put that idea into your head? There is a future bike path connecting to town across an old bridge, but I'd use the newer one for now. Head out on N. Village Rd. to Bean Rd. Find Silver Lake town beach. Bean Road is UNPAVED in the middle third of it. It's well graded and not wash-boarded, so even a road bike might be up to it. Come down to Newmarket Road at Waterloo. There is a nice covered bridge. It's NH bridge #13, and I'd WALK your bike across, as signage indicates... there are gaps in the deck boards that could easily grab a skinny road bike tire and not let go. Waterloo historic district is ahead. Ride Rt 103 a short bit to Roby Rd. Roby is UNPAVED, but cool and quiet. Alt on pavement ride would be to continue on Rt 103 to Bradford and Jct Rt114. A short distance on Rt 114 brings you to Main Street and Sutton. History there. And a Scenic Road - Corporation Hill Road, that is UNPAVED and could be a long haul on a road bike. Again, your alt route is Rt 114. Get to Wadleigh State Park on Kezar Lake. Wander the beautiful park and local roads a bit. Ride S on Rt 114 to Gile Pond Rd. Under Rt 89, nice murals, to N. Rd.
N. Rd leads to Kearsarge regional High School, then becomes UNPAVED. Could be a long haul on road bike, though it's graded and maintained and used by car traffic lightly. Nice riverside ride. No nearby alt route except to go back the way you came or some longer version on Rts 11, 4, and 127 back to Warner. At the purple cow on the corner of Kearsarge Mt Rd, find Schoodacs Coffee. You're there for the ice cream, but the coffee is really what it's about here. Shelter Kit is an interesting take on home building, check it out the web. After exploring the town further perhaps, (see Velvet Moose ride in this series for more info) back to the park, but don't even think about riding on the skate park.
