A ride on the NH Ice Cream Trail to Hatchland Farm's "Wicked Good" Dairy Delites, N. Haverhill and Moose Scoops Ice Cream, Warren, NH. Ride begins and ends at the missile in Warren, NH. Lots of parking for OHRV trail users, you'll be using some very nice roadway shoulders though. Leave town on Rt 25 the Moosilauke Highway. There are some boots on the ground there, maybe a sign of hiker welcome, as the AT crosses up ahead. Of course you're not covering all the bases unless you have helicopters. And boat launches. This is how the White Mountain National Forest began, and the Coos Road ended. The ride on Bushwood Road off Rt25 into N. Haverhill is excellent, with a fresh water spring near the start. Monument. This is where things got tricky. Headed N on Rt 10 a bit just to see whats there, then decided to get to the task at hand, the ice cream, so turned back south. Expected to come upon ice cream in a bit, certainly before that bridge over the Connecticut River into VT. Didn't. Consulted Oracle, OK, well not Oracle, that's a different company. Found Hatchland Farm just north of where I'd turned around to head south.... backtrack. Yeah! found it. (I've left that bit in the GPX file, so you can have the full experience.) Found the NINTH penny of the rides series on the backtrack, and the first DIME on the way south the second time, near http://highintensitybikeshop.com/ at an unassuming farm house. Decided to stay South on 10 through Haverhill in NH, not crossing into VT. After-all, this is the NH Ice Cream Trail Rides, not the VT rides. Further south on 10 to Piermont, and Four Corners Store. Onto 25C Lake Tarleton Road for the climb back up to Warren. State Park and Boat Launch. Bird condos. Discussion of ride with passerby at state park, found I'd made the right choice to go counterclockwise on this loop, as the 3-4 mile climb out of Warren on 25C to get here would be "more troubling" than it will be for me going down it headed the way I am. Good to know. Wow, the AT crosses this road too! Nice roll downhill for a-ways. Back in Warren at Scoops, and the Missile.
