A ride on the NH Ice Cream Trail to Memories Ice Cream, Kingston, NH. Ride begins and ends in Amesbury, MA at the Stop 'N Shop Rt 110. The final 2017 NH Ice Cream Trail Ride, to the 47th location on the trail! A Century ride! Start out with a ride along the Merrimack to the south and then turn back north. Ride a few short segments of Rail Trails towards Newburyport. See the (at one time) Largest Solar Park in New England. Find out what a Ghost Train is. That's one gnarly tree trunk! Cross the Merrimack and head toward the Beach(s) along the NH Seacoast. See the iron man. Whistle past graveyards. The path is part of a Scenic Byway, and The East Coast Greenway (at least 'till they move in inland a bit onto a rail right of way). Gardens! First Atlantic Cable! Points, Raids, Shipyards, Houses, Monuments. Ice cream at Memories. And then: due to darkness coming on, and battery life of various essential electronics, fewer pictures. Though, there was much of interest! However, there was Light At The End Of The Tunnel, which I got to before dark by cutting a few miles off the planned route... so many that at the "end" I was only at 98.6 miles... hmmm , wanted this to be a Century... parking lot is well lighted... ride a cool down! (You could take a more circuitous route instead of riding straight in on 150 to Amesbury as I had planned to, and skip the cool down...)
