I was able to get out at noon today. The weather was warm. It felt real hot as I got out the door, but cooled off as I made my way down the end of the block. The winds were favorable today. The usual head-wind on the way out and tail-cross on the way back. Although, the wind did shift a bit in the opposite direction as I was nearing Boss Hogs and the last climb of the day. I believe I lost at least 2 minutes due to the wind. I did good tempo on the way out, saved some energy for the return trip. I did good time out to SS. I was doing good tempo through the farmlands, doing over 20mph on Pelisser for the most part. The last quarter mile had a shift in the wind, from tail-cross to head. The same as I made the left onto Bailey. The remainder of the ride was under the cover of a tailwind, with the exception of the last climb, which had a headwind for a least 1 mile. I felt well concentrated today, I was able to put most of my energy down into the pedals. I had almost no ailments today. I felt a hint of soreness in the left calf, I eased up a bit and kept stretching. It never came back for the remainder of the ride. Other than that, my right hand was a little numb on only a few occasions. I had pretty good balance today, although I was favoring my left leg a bit. The gear is holding up well. No problems today. I ordered another cassette and chain. Will see how that effects the shifting. Other notes, the mini-farm looked like they had a shepard dog, or similar, ducks are back. I saw 3 Turkey vultures on the descent off of Banducci climb.
