Today was windy (from the South), but at a comfortable temperature. I was planning on doing a SS,R ride, but changed my mind when I noticed the wind conditions. At the last moment, I decided to go through the Alpine Forest. My body feels good. I wasn't paying much attention to time as it was not a day for PR's or even remotely close. I calculated that the Alpine Forest added about 10 minutes to the ride. When I reached the summit of Banducci, I took a few moments rest. Let traffic by and headed down. I let one car go as I was descending. Not a day for speeding on the downhill. Too much turbulence. Once I reached the base and the road straightened out, I was able to let go of the brakes and WOT. A lot of fun. The remainder of the ride through the farm lands was moderate tempo. Mostly, less than 14MPH into a head or crosswind. I looked forward to the last climb as it would provide some shelter from the wind, and that it did. After reaching the summit, the tough part of the ride was over. Mostly fun and games back to home. Concentration was good. Few / minimal gremlins, thank goodness. Balance and form felt good, considering the weather. Ailments consisted of right hand numbness. Gear is working well. I thew my chain a 2 or 3 times. Other notes, no other cyclists today and few motorists.
