After yesterday's ride (smh, this late in the year and we're feelin this way???) it seemed like a good idea to get out on the newly built urban bike and noodle around for an hour or so. Meandered around leafy Washington Grove and then some of Old Towne Gaithersburg, looky-lou-in at the houses smashed by trees a coupla weeks ago in the storms. Report: Still smashed, with lots of blue tarps everywhere. First long-ish ride on the bike, if you don't count the first version in ABQ a coupla weeks ago on the last night there. It works well as a 1x11, but definitely need a larger chain ring on the front. And the cantilever brakes are ... mehhhh... Maybe get some V-brakes instead. So spoiled by disc brakes ... but this is a rim-brake frame, so it is what it is. Also flat pedals will take some getting used to. Not having feet locked in was ... strange. Body felt awful at first but soon remembered what this was about and the legs soon perked up.
