Guess what I watched last night for the first time in probably more than a decade?
I wanted to do a northerly loop since I could see the wind was quite strong from the north and I didn't want to battle the headwind on the way home. Going north first would've also meant front loading the climbing and it would've been flat for the back half. So the opposite of this ride.
I couldn't decide where to eat and I also didn't really feel like riding by SFO so that meant going south. The indecision about where to ride was causing the start to get pushed later and later while I got more and more hungry.
Whenever I can't decide on a ride and end up doing something I'm not that interested in, I just hate the experience on the ride that much more. I probably would've felt as bad had I not gone out and I also wouldn't have got in any exercise so I guess this was the better option?
I decided to go to Five Guys since it was relatively close. I used to like them but I'm not so sure I like them anymore. There's something about the burger that tastes off. I think the things I don't like are the crunchy bacon and the sour pickles. Not a fan of sour things in general and I noticed the fries also have a sour taste to them. Not sure if there's some vinegar mixed in at some point during their journey to becoming a french fry.
When I got out to the bay, the wind was howling. The tailwind that I would've gotten at the end of the ride I wanted to do was now at the start. Later at Shoreline when I wasn't going with the wind, the crosswind felt pretty bad.
Fortunately the wind heading back to Woodside wasn't so bad but once I got to Canada the headwind was howling.
There weren't a lot of people out today weirdly. And those that I encountered were, once again, in the middle of the path, sometimes sprawled across the entire width of it.
