I love this weather! Nice and cool, sunny skies, mild wind conditions. The wind was headed North at the start. When I reached the top of Banducci, the wind had reversed. I felt pretty good to start. Didn't take much to get warmed up. Sufficient by the time I reached Banducci. Today was fast tempo ride. I was holding a good tempo up the climb. I took a breather at the summit and headed out to Banducci. It was at this point, I realized that I was going to have a nice tailwind on the way back. This gave me a bit of a morale boost. I was pushing the pace a bit. Relaxed for a few when I reached SS. I was doing good time, reaching the tunnel in under an hour. I kept the pace high all the way back through the flat lands. I took a few moments to check my wattage. I was thinking, I want to see what the difference is between riding at the same speed, but with different gearing and cadence. Inconclusive for the moment. I reached Boss Hogs in under 1:20 hours. I was happy when I reached the last climb. I was wondering if the wind was going to change on me, but it didn't. So, I had a tail-wind on the false flat to Route 202. From there, mostly fun and games, keeping the tempo up when I made my way through the rolling terrain. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, slight right calf soreness. It dissipated after about 5 minutes or so. Gear is working great. Made it home just in time. The battery was depleted when I reached the door. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
Other notes, this was the first ride in a while that I did a sub 1:50 hour ride on this route. Woot!
