On a dull, damp Sunday morning Lawrie led nine loiterers to of Uxbridge through North Hillingdon and across Pole Hill Playing Fields to elevenses at the Cafe Estrela Do Norte on Kingshill Ave,
After refreshments Jane, John, Clive, and Liliane returned home while Lawrie led Colin, Jim, Phil, and myself to Yeading and Southall. Crossing the Uxbridge Road we continued alongside Southall Park and by cycleway towards Norwood Green. We entered and crossed Glade Lane Park joining the GUC near Three Bridges of Brunel fame. The canal was followed down the Hanwell flight of locks before entering Elthorne Park. Emerging from the park we continued through the streets of South Ealing into Lammas Park and on into Walpole Park. Unfortunately all exits to the park were closed so after a circuit we made our way to Haven Green and lunch At The Wheatsheaf PH.
After a fine lunch we continued up through North Ealing past Montpelier Park and on to enter Pitshanger Park. crossing the park and Golf course we crossed the River Brent and passed the tiny Ancient Church of Saint Mary the Virgin. The route continued on to enter and cross Perivale Park and to join the A40 cycle track at Oldfield Road and through Marnham Fields and Northal Park where we stopped for tea.
After tea Phil and Colin left us to go directly home while we continued to and under Yeading Roundabout past Hayes Park to Mellow lane we said our farewells.
The weather was moist but the heaviest rain was while we were enjoying the warmth of the Wheatsheaf.
