Eleven loiters headed out of Uxbridge on the short ride to The Swan PH at Beaconsfield. The route had us riding to Denham roundabout, up Hollybush Lane to Tatling end, and on to Gerrards Cross and elevenses at Jung's Patisserie where we were joined by Jim H.
Refreshed Karen, Alec, John M, Colin, Andy, Graham, Jim, and I continued and Jane, John, Clive, land Luke returned home. We rode through Gerrards Cross to and across Gold Hill Common to Welders Lane where Jim left us to go to Chalfont St Giles. We descended the aforementioned lane and proceeded to Beaconsfield along Longbottom Lane. Having crossed the Amersham Road we found a quiet route to the Oxford road and so to The Swan for lunch. The pub was very busy but we were served with tasty lunches quite quickly. Oh, and the beer was good too.
After lunch we left Beaconsfield around Malthouse Square and Windsor End to cross the M40 on a footbridge making our way to Burnham Road and Ship Hill and on to Harehatch Lane. A short stretch along the main road we stopped in the car park of the Yew Tree restaurant while we absorbed the sad news of the death of a friend and colleague.
We continued on past One Pin crossroads, though Stoke Poges to take tea at Black Park before heading back towards Uxbridge with the group dispersing along the way.
