It was supposed to rain today, but it turned out to be a great day for riding. Cool enough to wear 1 base layer, arms and legs. Winds were from the north, so I had a tailwind on the way out. Getting out the door, my legs felt a bit heavy. It turned out to be an average ride at best. At the end of OTR, I still didn't feel properly warmed up. So, I decided not to do high tempo for the entirety of the ride. I think I had a hint of soreness in my left knee, but it must have went away soon there-after, because I don't remember it lingering. I had no other serious ailments other than that. The usual ailments were my hips, as I was in the hooks on part of the outbound. I stretched a bit here and there and that made the discomfort go away. My concentration was good, probably the best attribute of the ride. Balance was good. I felt on top of the pedals most of the way. The return trip entailed a strong headwind. In such, I did modest tempo, just keeping it nice and steady. The last half mile to the summit proved to be quite an effort. I was out of the saddle more than half of that leg. Gear is working great, I lubed my chain, it seems to be working nicely. Other notes, I saw a tow plane pulling a glider into position. The skies were clear, no doubt perfect weather for flying.
