Absolutely lovely fall afternoon; temps in the 70s, very light wind, sunny, blue skies ... and a broken spoke. Which, fine, that happens. Even to the wheel builder guy, sadly, since gotta keep that ego in check... Buuut you don't generally also get a flat -- but tin this case the threaded end of spoke apparently breached the rim tape of the wheel ... SIGH. And yes, a tube is carried but if the spoke is poking thru the rim tape, that's gonna mean it pokes into the tube as well... so let's not do that. Got a rescue ride home from the dog lady so there wasn't tooo much walking -- basically from where the ride ends straight south to the Ag History Farm parking lot. Fortunately have a spare wheel, also built by amateur wheel builder man, so let's put that on tomorrow ... At least it was a nice day...
