OG "Epic" Pt 2

Rode from my house back to the greenway, back to where we stopped two weeks ago and then more of the Epic route.

And friends, when we got to 11.6, three miles beyond where we stopped two weeks go, we confirmed yeah, stopping then was absolutely the right call. There are a coupla pretty tough climbs in that three miles. This week we were only 10 miles or so in and they were hard; two weeks ago, after 20+ miles with a lot climbing in our legs, that woulda been TERRIBLE.

So across MD 355 we go and into the one-time-a-year trail (only open to bikes on the Epic). We were ready to say, if challenged, we were doing the epic and this was our once-a-year ... But my goodness that trail is not great. Very much a hiking trail, not a MTB trail, with lots and lots of roots and funny angles approaching very narrow bridges and just not maintained much.

Cool fall day, temps in the 50s, but sunny and clear with lots and lots of leaf color...

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
