Alright, today was "the day"! Wow, great weather with a bonus. The wind switched directions in the middle of my ride. I had a nice tailwind on the way up Banducci, a headwind out to SS, and a tail-cross-wind all the way back home. My legs felt good out the door. This was the ride I was hoping for when I went to sleep last night. When I reached the summit of Banducci, I noticed that I was doing REAL good time. I was expecting to have a tailwind on the way out to SS and lose all of the advantage that I had gained. Turns out that it was not only the opposite, but I was able to put bonus time into the ride. I reached the SS tunnel in around 55 minutes, and exit of SS in about 1 hour. I did good tempo for most of the ride, even in the headwind. I was able to lift the pace to high tempo once I hit the flat lands on the return leg. My body was really hooking up today, my legs were there, my cardio was there, and almost ailments. My right hand did tingle a bit on the last 1/3 of the ride. I think it lasted a minute or two and then went away. I think I backed off the pace just a hint to bring circulation back into my hand. I was able to get in 3 good digs. The summit of the Banducci wall, the top of SS, and over the top of CVR. All of which I felt strong. My concentration was spot on. I was in the zone for over 90% of the ride. Balance was fantastic too, my legs were ticking over just about as good as it will get. Gear was another story. Quite the opposite of the physical part of the ride. Just like the previous ride, my gears were slipping when I was in a certain ratio. I'm still not sure what it was. I tried taking a peek at what it was, but to no avail. I'm going to put the bike on the trainer and stomp on the pedals till they skip. I'll take my gopro and record it in high speed. No telling what to expect... Otherwise, just a fantastic ride. One for the record books/
