It was a bit cold today, in the 40's. The temperature dropped significantly since the previous ride. I had to wear knees, arms, 2 base layers (one of which was a long sleeve jersey), arms, cap, and face. Suffice it to say, I was warm and never felt like I was going to freeze out there. It was cloudy and winds from the north west. My legs felt pretty good today. I cruised it to the top of the descent. I think I got there in around 10 minutes. I did the same on the downhill, just really soft-pedaling and making efforts where the road turned upwards. I made it to the bottom in average time. The return trip was good. In terms of clothing, it was perfect. I only had to remove my face mask when I crested the loop monument. Other than that, I was real comfortable. I did between moderate and good tempo for the entire climb. I made a bit of an effort over the loop monument, just keeping the pace high, but not sprinting. I didn't have any ailments, in that respect, the ride was perfect. Balance was good, not great, but better than average. My concentration was right on, I was in the zone for most of the ride. Gear is working well, the chain appears to be working flawlessly. Will need to keep an eye on it over the next few months. Other notes, there was 1 rider on his way down, just as I crested the summit.
