Annnnd we have further established that SOMEBODY is a lot farther outta shape than they thought. Well, it's February, so big whoop. It was also quite warm, in the low 60s, so for sure there needed to be a ride. Could have made it 30 with the usual loop around Haines Point but the legs and lungs had other ideas so back across the bridge we went; no loop. A pretty good wind from the WNW made the first 4 miles or so a challenge, as well as the three through SW DC but by no means was it a complete buzzkill. Skipped the official trail route through "Mayfair" and instead cut through Kenilworth Park on some dirt trails and dirt roads. Lots of people out -- rowing in the Anacostia, alllll over the paved trail along the river, riding bikes, etc.
