As predicted, today was a warm day. It is supposed to get up into the 90's. I think it was in the mid 80's when I got out the door. My legs felt ok when I departed. I took it real modest to the top of the descent. I think I made it there in about 12 ish minutes. The descent was nice and comfortable. Soft-pedaled most of the way and made it to the base in about 28 minutes or so. As I had planned, I needed to conserve energy and put as much concentration on the open and steeper part of the terrain. It turned out to be within my limits. I was never in danger of overheating or getting overly exhausted. I kept a nice steady and even tempo on those parts. Once I made it over the loop monument, I was able to relax a bit more and keep my concentration in the zone along with my body. My concentration was better than I had anticipated. I was well focused for the majority of the ride. There was a bit more traffic than usual today. But everyone was courteous, and let a few people through. None of which disrupted my progress. Ailments were surprisingly low. I only had a right hand numbness. I also experienced a bit of deep tissue cramping in my right leg just before the descent. By the time I reached the base of the climb, my leg worked out that ailment. Gear is working well. Although, I did hear another spoke tension glitch/click. This has happened on more than a few occasions, but I don't see any thing that would indicate that the rear wheel is becoming out of true or round. Other notes, I saw a fox on the climb. Not sure if I got it on time-lapse.
