I had a good day today :D. The weather was fantastic, like beach weather but less wind. I felt good from mile 1. I got out late because I had to purchase something for my bike, more details on that later. I didn't need much of a warmup today. My legs seemed to be there right from the start. The winds were mild, so I went into Highline thinking that I wasn't going to get near a fast out-bound ride. I was right. The wind was somewhat of a cross from the North-West. On days like this, it's the average speed goes up. I was able to do moderate tempo with some higher on the outbound. The way back was more of moderate tempo with a bit of increase towards the end. Again the winds were a bit of cross, so I wasn't going directly into it as I was on the return leg. I think I was averaging around 15-16mph. The Banducci wall was what I had anticipated. The jolt from the start, and the settling into a tempo that would last to the summit. Once I got up the wall, I proceeded to the top of Banducci. I continued to feel good at this point. I decided not to do the extra bit going towards the Tour de Teh leg. I didn't have enough provisions, and I planned to turn around from the summit. The return trip was great. Probably the most relaxing and enjoyable part of today's ride. Ailments. My hips were a bit sore nearing the end of the Highline return leg. I free-handed it for a few seconds to get some circulation into it. When I reached the Banducci wall, the soreness went away. The other ailment was numbness of the right hand. Stretching it made that go away. Balance today was probably the best part of the ride. My legs felt square centered. Gear is working well, I think there are less clicking noises from the frame noises today than into the previous day. Other notes, I noticed that the clicking noises from the rear wheel persists. I ended up buying a new pair of Mavic wheels that will arrive on Monday from Nashbar. I plan on returning the current ones to Performance, once I have verified that the new wheels are withing my liking.
