Leaving the hotel we joined the guided busway at Histon and followed it to the next road crossing. At the edge of Oakington village we stopped for elevenses at the Olive Tree Cafe at Oakington Garden Centre.
Leaving the garden centre we travelled south through Dry Drayton and on to cross the A428 to join the St Neots Road. Cycling west towards Cambourne we turned south along Broadway to Bourn and lunch at the Abantu Trade Cafe. In spite of having no beer the was a great lunch stop.
After lunch we joined the B1046 where we were rained upon as we made our way through Comberton to Barton. From Barton we followed a bridleway across the M11 to Grantchester to take tea at the Orchard Tea Gardens once the haunt of the Bloomsbury Set.
Refreshed we left across Grantchester Meadows then back to Impington following a well signed route through the streets of Cambridge.
