Too nice a fall day not to get in another ride to Paradise and it was delightful. Unbelievable weather for this time of the year, Everything on Ranier shut down for the season including the Whitaker bunk house facility in Ashford, Copper Creek restaurant (no blackberry pie) and Visitor center at Paradise. New rough chip seal road from Ashford to park entrance and with the sun and shadows darting in an out, I almost hit a dead deer on the sholdier of the road. Since this might be my last Rainier ride this year, decided to play and make it a day in the park. Relatively few cars going up but today was a day for enjoying the ride. After crossing the Nisqually river a mile further is a look out point called Rickseeker Point and the views of Rainier were stunning but sobering. Where's the snow. I met a guy who pointed out 5 distinct steam vents rising of the ridge near the summit. Wow, never saw that before. Fall red colors at Paradise were spectaculor. Worth another trip? Decided that I had time and so dropped over to Reflection lake on the way down to enjoy the fall colors. Very little traffic descending to Longmire and then there was a lot of traffic in that it was past 4 and people heading down from Paradise. Had my 50 miles in but decided to add 10 more to make it a Metric century ride. data: Ended with 50 % battery even though I played with level 1 assist at mile 16 and threw in level 2 and 3 in the last 2 miles to Paradise
