Three hundred ninety-three years ago, Academia Gustaviana was founded in Tartu, then in the Swedish provice of Livonia. It is now The University of Tartu in Estonia. During its early history, it shut down, moved to other cities, and changed names due to several wars and German and Russian occupation. Not until after Estonian independence in 1918 did it become the University of Tartu, and it has been an Estonian-language institution since then. It name changed again during the German occupation in WWII and then Soviet occupation until Estonia regained independence in 1991.
University of Tartu now has 15,000 students enrolled. The historical buildings of the university are included in the European Heritage Label list as "embodiment of the ideas of a university in the Age of Enlightenment."
I cut today's ride short again. I had planned 10 more miles and 700 feet more climbing, but when I got to the end of the Mulholland pavement, it was 86°, warmer than forecast. I wasn't doing badly at that point, but the climb up from Skirball had been a drag, so chose not to descend to Sherman Oaks, even hotter, and climb back up. The rest of the ride felt good. I'd still like to ride more miles and more climb several times a week, but it's hard when it's hot.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
