What a fantastic day for a ride. In the low 80's with a hint of humidity. I decided to do an extended ride today, contingent on how I felt on the first leg. I started the ride very modest, making to the top of the descent in about 12 minutes or so. I soft pedaled to Keene in about 28 minutes. My legs were feeling good, and the new pedals felt very comfortable. I was able to hold high tempo for most of the ride. And pushing a bit over the summit. I'm liking the new cleat position, having a bit of heal-out play. I think I need to adjust the right heal just a tad heal-out. The winds were from the North-West, so I had a tailwind on the way back up from Keene. I was able to gauge my efforts accordingly through out the climb. I think I may have had a bit of soreness in my right shin, but only slightly. I think my lower back was a bit sore on a few occasions. I put it into cruise control on the way back down the short descent and commenced to Banducci. My legs, at this point, were responsive. I was able to keep tempo of at least moderate through out OTR. The Banducci wall proved to be the most difficult as there was a head-wind. Of course, the headwind persisted through out the remainder of the climb. My ailments consisted mostly of lower back soreness. I was able to mitigate the pain by changing my hand positions. Also, getting out of the saddle and stretching helped a bit too. After making it to the Banducci summit, I took a 2 or 3 minute break, taking on some fluids and then started the return trip. The remainder of the ride was comfortable with minimal effort required. Out of the saddle only where needed. Other notes, my gopro stopped recording, no clue why just yet. Otherwise, gear is working great. No mystery clicks! Oh yes! Today I hit 1,000,000 feet climbed since 2011. Big milestone!
Notation: The Gopro was set to timelapse mode when it should have been in HD video mode. This caused the SD card to run out of space.
