There was a group ride today in the morning. They did Keene + SS, as a reconnaissance ride for the Gran Fondo. I decided not to do it because I have lab next week and I need to rest my bottom for the next few days. I felt that adding the Banducci climb would be the perfect compromise. The weather today was fantastic. In the lower 80's and sunny. My legs felt good the entire ride.. I had no major ailments. My back was sore on a few occasions, but I was constantly stretching and that mitigated the soreness. The winds were from the North-west. The way out on HIghline started out as good tempo up the 1 mile climb, then tapered off as I progressed to Willow Springs. The return trip was mostly moderate tempo and out of the saddle when I reached the top of the climb. I felt good on Banducci. I stayed on top of the pedals most of the time. I was out of the saddle towards for most of the wall. In the saddle mostly thereafter. I stopped on the summit for 2 minutes or so, hydrated, relaxed, and then commenced the return. From that point on, it was cruise control going mostly downhill. My concentration was good for the most part. Balance was probably the lesser of the ride's attributes. Gear is working perfect. Still a mystery click near the pedals. I'm tempted to put my old pedals and shoes to see if it really is the pedals that are the fault. Other notes, I saw no other riders, there was 1 garage sale that I wished I had gotten the location and dates.
