Some serious weather whiplash going from sunny and 25C on yesterday's Peninsula ride to yucky fog and windy, cold temps (15C but felt like 10-12C with the windchill).
It went from sunny to fog as I drove up and asked Emily what was up with this BS weather. But as if I was in a movie, going through the last tunnel before work, it went from overcast to blue skies.
When I went out for lunch, I could see the fog roll in and by midafternoon it was overcast at work too.
We were going to do a Headlands loop but on the way to the bridge the weather went from bad to worse. It was completely foggy and the bridge was nowhere to be seen so we pivoted to doing a city loop.
Around the Legion of Honor, we saw a guy stopping to take a photo and there was a hawk perched on a street sign. We stopped to photograph it until it flew away.
Then we took Lukas on Sloat Blvd. for his very first time. Not sure what he thought of it but apparently his friends avoid it. Of the streets to ride on in SF, I think it's on the better side honestly.
Twin Peaks was windy and very foggy. We didn't stop, just turned around so we could head back to less cold conditions.
At lunch, I got a Banana Chocolate Loaf as a snack before the ride but I was still full so I brought it to share with Emily and Lukas. The top of Twin Peaks wasn't a great place to snack on it so when we came back down Emily wanted froyo so we snacked there. While we were there, Pam texted about meeting for ice cream in the Mission. Lukas had work to do so he went home.
By the time we got going again, I had started to get cold. Unfortunately, it's mostly downhill to the Mission and I just got colder and was starting to shiver.
I ended up putting on Emily's jacket which mostly fit, as long as I didn't try to lift my arms or point at anything. Any sudden movements and I would've ripped the back. :)
Before the ride I didn't bring any extra Skratch or a battery for my light, which was getting close to needing a charge because I figured we weren't going to be venturing long past dark. Things I should've brought but since I'm out of practice Emily'ing thought I wouldn't need.
We hung out and talked until it started to get dark where I may have said the words, "It might have been better if it bit me the right way." I'll just leave it at that.
