Well, we had a weather diversion today. After leaving Douglas and stopping at the Buffalo Calf Stone Historical site (see photos for information) we had hoped to explore some of the roads down in the Qu’Appelle Valley and stay in Eyebrow overnight. But as we neared the area we wanted to explore, the main roads got damper and damper and the field roads and two tracks were inevitably shining with water. A lady that we spoke to on the roads said not to trust any of the backroads as they had had 3” of rain on Saturday and most of the area was waterlogged. So, we decided to abandon our exploration, have lunch in Eyebrow and then head on to Buffalo Pound. Eyebrow has a really cool series of benches on their Main Street. Eight benches, each in the shade of a tree and with an electrical box next to each bench to charge a phone. Very novel. And they also have a pretty nice little campground for a village. The forecast winds for tomorrow are 30 to 50 SE on weather network and 40 to 60 on Environment Canada so we are planning to wait out the wind in Buffalo Pound and resume our travels on Thursday.
