Starting in Le Bourg D'Oisans the route takes the main D1091 South East. The road begins to climb and after 3 Km a turning is made following a beautiful wooded climb, breaking out onto the first of the Ballons, with spectacular views and drops. The road is followed to Bons, where if desired an ascent to Les Deux Alpes can be made. From Bons the road descends to the Lac du Chambon dam and continues to descend along the D1091 to Le Freney d'Oisans. Climbing begins again along the road towards Auris en Oisans. After 8 Km the 2nd of the Ballons is gained featuring more biiigg drops and the long descent to Le Garde and bend 16 of the famous Alpe d'Huez climb. From here a quick return to Le Bourg D'Oisans can be made. If you have a thirst for more, begin the climb towards Alpe d'Huez. Shortly after bend 5, take the turning through Huez village, climbing up to the 3rd Ballon and the village of Villard Reculas. The long descent to Allemond is then followed joining the D1091 again for the return to Le Bourg D'Oisans
