With typical August weather in full force (so huuuuumid), the right call is to start early. And so we did, leaving from the Soccerplex about 0730, enjoying a LOT of downhill toward the river along with a little over 4 miles on the C&O towpath (argh! green tunnel!). Then the next 10 miles is pretty much uphill, though it doesn't always feel like it, thankfully. We were aided today by a breeze from the north, so there's also that. Legs still a little tired from Tuesday's fun in Frederick, and the contact points also made their presence known but none of it was really awful. Even the last climb back to the 'Plex, through a boring suburban neighborhood, could have been a death march but wasn't. With two days of rest planned the legs and contact points should be ready to go on Sunday and then after that, some relaxing. Still riding, but not feeling the pressure like the week before the covered bridge ride (tho... SOMEbody signed up for the Civil War Century, aiming to do the metric version ... in three weeks, smdh) w/Dan
