The weather is steady and on the cooler side. It was less than 80 degrees when I got out. Winds from the North West. Perfect for a ride to Keene. My neck was hurting in the morning. It's was difficult to turn my head left and right as well as up and down. So I was giving more attention as not to agitate it. I wore the standard summer kit. I brought a third bottle just in case. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. There was some traffic mitigation, so I let them by. I made it to the base of the climb in good average time. After reaching the base, I headed back without hesitation. I let the climbing legs settle in for the first segment of the climb. After making it to the Lower Loop, I was feeling better. The morale got better after passing through the more difficult zones. I tried not to red-line it till I made it to the top. I was counting the songs to the summit to keep the mind distracted. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments to recover on the bike. Then I headed to OTR. I put in my mind that this was "PT" time. The metrics show that I made it to the top in about 19:53 minutes. Add a few minutes to that and I made it there in good average time. From there, I headed up Highline and then around the Buffalo Run neighborhood. I hopped back on Highline for the return. As I was making my way to OTR, I decided to stop to feed an swap the GoPro battery. I did just that. After feeding and doing the battery swap on the GoPro, I got back on the road. Descending off OTR was very relaxing and good for the morale. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. The morale was good. My patience was in check, but I did have my moments where I had to put my mind back in check. Balance and form was good. Ailments, the neck pain was the worse. Otherwise, the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I fed a Clif Bar, all of my sport drink and some water. I'm glad I brought an extra bottle of water so that I didn't have to ration. I drank as much as I needed. Gear worked flawlessly. However, the GPS announcements didn't work today. There's still mystery clicks from the bike. I've decided to try and removing the left crank and clean it out before re-installing it. Other notes, I saw one cyclist and a familiar walker today.
