Left from Flowing Lake Co Park over to Centennial Trail. Nice bkfst in Snohomish. Unfortunately, I turned my bike computer off at bkfst and didn't realize it until Mill Creek. Thus, this ride's record lost about 10 miles and quite a bit of elevation gain. Difficult finding a route out of the Snohomish River valley. Suggestion by a woman at Cascade Bicycle Club HQ (which I visited on my way through) is to just follow SR 9 which is busy but with wide shoulders and easier grade.
I've since looked at maps and determined that leaving Snohomish, I could take Marsh Rd across Hwy 9 and through the Larimers Corner junction with Seattle Hill Rd where it becomes Lowell Rd and rejoins Hwy 9 a bit further on. At that point on Hwy 9 there appears to be the start of a marked bike lane (on Google Maps). Could then continue into Woodinville and join the Sammamish R bike trail to Bothell.
Otherwise, it leaves one navigating VERY steep streets UP out of the Snohomish R Valley. Busy Seattle Hill Rd, for example, even has a sign at the bottom saying, "No Shoulders."
Getting through Mill Creek and down to Bothell was aided greatly by an increasing number of bike paths and well-marked and well-paved suburban streets. There are still some safety issues like a two lane entrance to I-405 that I nearly got creamed on by a car-trailer entering on the second (Express) lane as I was attempting to cross over both lanes to go straight.
From Bothell-onward, I was in familiar territory and on the Sammamish R trail and then the Burke-Gilman trail along Lk. Washington. I must say that some cyclists go WAY to fast on these trails which must be unnerving to pedestrians. I enjoyed the relaxed pace, myself.
I stopped off at the Cascade Bicycle Club HQ in Magnussen Park as mentioned above. After an ice water fill up there and a snack, I made my way past UW to Fremont and the Cascade Bicycle Studio where I bought both of my Seven bikes. Joseph there steered me to Made in House deli for a wonderful bowl which I leisurely at along the ship canal before making my way to the PO boat dock downtown. I LOVE that canal -> boat yard -> Interbay -> water front trail. They are actively working on improvements along the way and the ones they have recently made as part of the Alaskan Way reconstruction are AWESOME! But again, I wish bicyclists (and scooters) would be more considerate toward pedestrians crossing the bike lanes, etc.
Crossing to the Island on the foot ferry, I had a lovely welcome by Yve Suskind and then rode up the hill and to Burton with Neil Shiosaki who was on his usual commute home from work. That made it SO much more fun!
NOTES:
Straight line from Snohomish to Mill Creek and Ferry crossing from Coleman Dock to Vashon both resulted in straight lines. Neither figures into the mileage on this segment as the Garmin was turned off during those times.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
