Herring Cove to Lower Silvas Lake

Starting at Herring Cove bridge, the first 4 miles to Beaver Falls is paved. From Beaver Falls parking lot, follow a 2 mile long maintenance road to the Lower Silvis Lake. At the parking lot, pass through a metal gate to gain a steep, relentless, gravel maintenance road for about the first 1 mile. The last mile is easy ups and downs along Beaver Falls creek and lower Silvis lake to the road terminus at the hydro power outlet. There are picnic spots and a toilet at the dam. What goes up. must come down, your return time is very fast. In winter, this road maintenance generally doesn't go beyond the gauge station. Winter avalanches along the lake are frequent.
