Today was an easy recovery ride day. I did a quick ride to the top of OTR. Nothing much to say. The legs were a bit wonky to start. My balance was a bit off, not sure why. By the time I reached Country Club, things started to feel normal. I was paying attention to a few things. The muscles, joints, balance, and the bike. Everything seemed to check out. I kept the tempo steady while climbing OTR doing in and out of the saddle efforts. After reaching the summit, I headed back home. I pushed over Mariposa and then the modest dig to the top of Weston. I shut it down at the top.
Concentration was good. Sometimes I get that sadness feeling after a big ride and knowing I won’t do it or prepare for it until the next year. Today wasn’t to be the case. I’m glad I got it over with, now to concentrate on other stuff. Balance and form was wonky to start, but felt better after about 10 minutes of riding. Ailments were minimal. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I skipped the morning nap because I slept in just a bit. Gear worked flawlessly. The left brake feels ok. I did the strap the lever to the bar trick the other day and it went back to normal. Pending a few more rides to confirm. Other notes, no cyclists out there today.
Other notes, the power meter readings have gone back to normal.
