Today was a great day for riding. I had lab, so I started a bit later than usual. When I got out the door, the weather felt real hot. But as I made my way for the first mile or two, the wind was nice and cool. Always a good combination. Given that the winds were from the north, I decided to do the entire ride, with SS. My legs felt average at the start, but came about early on, in OTR. I approached Banducci with a bit of reservation. I was steady for most of the climb. When I got to the summit, I changed video modes in my GoPro, and checked the Charity app. The charity app wasn't recording. It showed, Resume/Finish. I must have pressed the wrong button as I was just heading out. I did good time to the summit considering that I was doing moderate tempo up until that point. After that, I kept the tempo steady, but high enough to stay in the comfortable zone. I didn't check my split time at the SS entrance, but I did reach the tunnel in under 1 hour. The wind was almost exclusively to the east, so I was able to hold high tempo while going that direction through the farm lands. I reached Boss Hogs in under 1:20 hrs. The return trip felt like a blitz. The wind made it feel like I had an extra lung. Very fun stuff! My concentration was real good for the most part, a few blips now and again. Balance was especially good. Ailments consisted of a bit of saddle soreness and right hand numbness. Gear is working well. I reseated both wheels before the ride and heard no mystery clicks during the entire ride. Other notes, the farmlands felt especially nice today. Of green onions.
