Today was a great day to go out. The weather was just perfect. Winds from the north, nice and cool. My legs felt pretty good from the beginning. I cruised my way to the top of the descent, in average time. Around 10 minutes or so. The descent was nice and easy, just giving efforts where the road kicked up. I felt good on the return trip. I had my climbing legs on today. I started moderate and picked up the pace, all the way to the loop monument. Did a bit of a dig over that part and then put it into cruise control, keeping it steady, somewhere between moderate and high tempo. I was getting out of the saddle every 20 to 30 seconds, staying on top of the pedals and keeping my momentum. My concentration was good today, few lapses. I had good balance as well. Ailments consisted of minor right knee pains. Nothing that caused me to hold back my tempo. Gear is working well. The bike is making some noises. Perhaps needing to re-seat the wheels again. Other notes, I saw a tandem on the way up as I was descending. There was a train off to the right of the downhill. I was keeping up with it. Then there was another train on its way up. I wanted to see if I could beat it to the loop monument and I did. There were a lot of people at the monument, but no cheering for me today.
