First time at Cotoni-Coast Dairies. The first lap was supposed to be at photo pace and I was going to send the 2nd lap. Instead the 2nd lap was also photo pace because I did the trails in the opposite direction and there was so many beautiful new things to see. 😍
The trails are scenic, fun and flowy, and a little spicy and techy in parts. ❤️
Would recommend!
Currently they only have the northern loop of trails built but eventually there will be two more similar sized sections.
On the trail map they have suggested direction of travel for each trail. Before I got there, I thought maybe the trails were one way but when I got there the trail markers pointed in both directions. On the first lap, I followed the suggested direction but after I was done, I could already tell I'd probably like some of the trails better in the other direction.
There are three mini-loops and each one gets a little more advanced. The middle, Huyya Trail loop starts to head into the forest where the trails get flowier. When heading north, both the West and East trail are great but the East trail has a rocky descent down to the Connector trail so it's not as good going back. I can see why they chose that direction.
I actually preferred going up the black/expert trail because it was much faster to get to the top than Wildcat. While beautiful, it has quite a few steep switchbacks and it tired the legs and overall, the climb felt like it took forever.
I actually almost didn't do the 2nd lap because I was feeling a bit tired but once I got going again, I was feeling good. Glad I went back.
