I had technical issues this morning, as ever with both my rack and pannier - fortunately nothing that three cable ties wouldnt fix ! AGAIN
I set off at 10 and immediately met up with the two Israeli lads, their pace was somewhat sedate, they had taken 7 days to reach here, so after pleasantries I soon departed.
The river gas yet another weir on it before it rather dried up and I found myself cyclung in a much more agricultural environment, the route swapped between dedicated cycleway and small farm tracks.
After a small hill I dropped back into the valley at a gorgeous spot were another rivr joined on a bend guarded by a huge rocky promentary.
I met up with a couple of Americans I had passed yesterday, the lived in the Napa Valley in California and we chatted cycling for 5 mins but again they were doing a more liesurely tour so after taking photos I departed. Within a minute I passed the most awezome toilet ever ... It was a Galleon which the cycleway passed through - it gad decks and still had that fantastic view of the river.
I then followed a vety dry river bed throuvh farm fields until I reached the weir which holds back Tangeum Lake at which point I stopped for lunch at the Cafe Lake249 which just happened to have a Christmas tree full of bread and croissants to welcome me !
I was soon in Chungju which is a big city and I diverted off route to find a cycle shop as I need some lube.
After getting there first time I spwnt 5minutes establishing it was closed down !
I passed what looked like a golf course but they were putting oversized golf balls with mallet like putters - it was busy but tgey were fast, I watched a fourball play a hole in under a minute !
The next 10 mikes along the Namhan river were great cycling and really scenic, culminating in a wonderful waterfall connecting two rivers through a gap in a rocky outcrop with a suspension bridge above .. it was so awesome I gad to post a second video of the day on Facebook.
7 more miles into Suanbo and I seem to be in a deserted hotel, even the checkin girl was a robot, she was a bit feisty but eventually she yielded and gave me my room key.
Im currently having my first Korean Meal as there's no alternative in Suanbo .. and I have no idea what I'm eating.
