This was an interesting gravel route around a portion of Lake Apopka. I had another first time while biking experience today. As I rounded a corner, a possum came out of the bushes but then when it saw me, it went right back in. Thank goodness! Today was a day of many redwing blackbirds and great blue herons. I even got to watch a hero having its breakfast. I saw an osprey nest on a pole. In another place I saw osprey flying holding a fish and I saw a hawk with a snake. I was expecting to see a lot of alligators, but I only saw one in the water and one baby one walking out on the road. As I got closer, it scurried away into safety by the water. I’d like I ride this trail again when it is about 50 or 60 degrees. Since there is no shade it gets hot quick.
