Knin had a busted water line, so the whole town did not have running water while we were there. Mat and Bill bought many bottles of sparkling water and they were using them to flush the toilet! (I didn’t use a toilet …). I bought dinner and drinks for five of us at a pizza place. I found a poppyseed pastry at a bakery and it’s good but not as rich as what they have in Slovakia. The morning was cool and breezy, and we went over a waterfall on the way out of town. The first part of a ride was a gentle slope up a forested canyon on newly graded gravel road. We stopped for mulberries and at an old stone bridge. We went by Dinarica Mountain. Our next break was at a spring-fed pool called Eye of the Earth. I jumped in and it was so cold I had trouble getting out. Mat found a cherry tree and we climbed onto a roof to pick and eat many, so good. The weather was very windy and stormy, but the rain stayed south of us as we headed south into Sinj. I’m by myself in a hotel and Mat/Bill are coming here to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. I’m really getting comfortable being here, it’s so nice! Tomorrow I’m leaving the route and heading to the Split area (Brač Island and Makarska) and taking a break until June 21st.
