This has to go down as the best ride of the year, Larry, Walter, Drew Bill, Jim T, Rob, Renae and Tom and I met Ralph and Sandy for the usual coffee and light breakfast at PB. We also wanted to let it warm up just a little bit as well, it was cold at 8:00 am. Upon leaving PB we headed up International and over the 17/92 speed bump to the trail head. We were able to take the Spring to Spring all the way to the new bridge over 417 in Osteen. The 417 bridge is not open but they do have a nice sidewalk from the foot of the bridge around to the Texaco Station. The ride south on 417 was one of the best experiences I have had on that road. We were able to ride right down the middle of the road with orange barrels on both sides almost all the way to Celery. Cars were going by at high speed but presented no threat to us. The ride thru Sanford along the lake was perfect with just a slight cross wind, but you just can't beat the view. The ride south on Oregon and International was fast and easy with a tail wind which is very nice on the homeward route. Lunch at Dexter's was outstanding then the ride south again was ideal. THis ride is a definate 10 in my book and will only get better when the construction is complete. This ride takes care of my monthly metric century for January.
