The weather remains warm. I got up in time to avoid the afternoon heat. It was below 80 when I got out. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt pretty good to start. They feel recovered. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After making it to the base, I spared no time and headed back. The climbing legs settled in after about 10 minutes. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts most of the way up. The landmarks went quick. I forgot to start the HR sensor before the start of the ride, so I lost those metrics. It didn't occur to me until later in the ride. The morale got better as the ride progressed. I was listening to music near the summit. I guessed if I could make it to the top before the current song ended. I was within a second or two. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments to recovered and then headed back home. I did a modest dig to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. The morale felt good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Hand soreness and the sense of fatigue. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, grapes, and half a banana before departing. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. The Di2 battery was low, so I charged it for 5 minutes before the start of the ride. It was enough to hold me over. Other notes, there was a train on the Loop. There was a visitor at the Loop Monument. The commuters were nice today.
