HRV and resting heart rates been off kilter for a couple weeks so due to thr temperatures being 100+ for the last 2-3 weeks now, Iβve been taking more days off thr bike between rides to allow deeper over adaption to take hold.
Every time I go do a heat ride, various system imbalances show up during sleep and morning Garmin biometrics read outs.
After a midday nap today, I felt pretty good and had topped off my βBody Batteryβ an extra 16 points over before the nap readings.
So knowing the temperature outside my house was at 104 and that temperatures over at the Inland SART - Santa Ana River Trail would be 4-7 degrees hotter than here I opted to ride surface streets out towards Corona California Ave to just about its end to Main St Corona then 6th to Magnolia back to Central.
Didnt think through the numbet of stop lights and thr extra stress of having to pool heat while waiting for lights to change and some sections required more speed and watts rhan i was scheduled to work with.
I actually felt good enough to realize that in all prior hot seasons where I adapted grscefully to this time of the years heat, where ever I lived, I was not trying to stick to eternal coaching suggestions. Iβve always relied upon internal instincts and promptings to know when to increase and decrease tempo, interval types and readiness, recovery patterns and frequency, duration and intensity or tempo of long rides be they flatland or mountainous in layout.
Seems like all the male coaches out there be they human, AI, or a mix lean towards an ESTJ kind of personality preferences of communication style amd thats been a continual source of dissonance for me in being an INFP.
Perhaps its time to unvail my own Flow State Centered Coaching where participants learn to become their own coach based on their own biofeedback and personality type along with the ability to weigh and adapt to the thr unique influences we each have in our lives.
In essence, I realize its time to stop trying to wait for easier outside conditions to show up weather wise and just continue to nudge my body into the furnace like conditions so it goes ahead and over adapts to a more extreme level and length of heat than it had in past years.
