The weather remains on the warm side. I got up about 30 to 60 minutes later than I planned, so I tried to hurry up. It was around 80 when I got out. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt ok start. I made it to the top of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was near max going over the top. I recovered on the flat segment and then finished the climb. I had to let traffic by as I was making my way to the summit. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to recover. I made it there in average time. I was in no hurry as I knew the warm weather was going to hold me back. The descent off Banducci was mostly safe, but there was traffic that I had to pay attention to. The trek through the farmlands was mostly moderate tempo in the saddle. After making it passed the entrance to SS, I made my way around the backside. I stopped once to take photos of the local cattle. After making it to the rear entrance, I made my way to the descent. I put in a good sprint. I was a bit hesitant when I was in the tuck, so I feathered the brakes slightly to bring it back. I reached 40 MPH. I stopped at the local park for a bio break. I passed the tunnel in 1:08 hours. Then I made my way to the mini mart where I mixed a sport drink. I got back on the road and headed home. The return trip through the farmlands was mostly patience. The Pelliser street is super bumpy now. They did an abysmal job. They put a layer of tar without smoothing out the bumps. Just horrible. I passed Boss Hogs in about 1:32 hours. So, I gave up just 4 minutes on the return. The last climb went ok. I kept the tempo steady. The legs were heavier. I pushed over the summit and then stopped to feed. I fed a Clif Bar with water. Shortly after, I got back on the road and headed to Route 202. Route 202 had traffic mitigation from behind. I let truck go by before merging onto the left turn lane. Descending off OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and the dig to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. I was a bit annoyed that I got up late, knowing I'd get back in the afternoon. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana, and some grapes for breakfast. I fed a Clif Bar with water, about one and a half sport drink. Ailments were minimal. The usual sense of fatigue in the legs and hand soreness. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw 2 cyclists today, both on OTR
