The weather has cooled off. It is now in the 70’s. Clear skies, winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit with my new arm coolers. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in average time. I decided to add the Banducci Summit to today’s ride since I am close to 3rd place in the Fun in the Sun competition and the Spooktacular ride is a possibility. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was all eyes and ears. I was near max going over the top, but I had matches to burn. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then headed back down the mountain. There was some traffic mitigation, so I had to let cars by. Descending off the Banducci Wall was mostly safe, but I had to feather the brakes. From there I did the Buffalo run. Nothing much to tell other than I had a nice tailwind on the way up. After making it back to OTR I was able to relax on the downhill. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness. My right hip feels better. That's why I gave it the green light to go up Banducci. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast. Gear worked flawlessly. I have to lube the chain. Other notes, no cyclists today. I forgot that I had an appointment in the morning, at least that didn't delay my ride.
