Lesson One: On gravel, you need to use those low gears that you forgot you had. Lesson Two: Make sure your RD low set is correct, or you will throw your chain behind your big cog under load. I got to untangle my chain a couple of times today, especially when trying to climb up Junietta Road. No real harm done, but some proper maintenance is in store. A lovely Fall day for a ride, sunny and about 66°F with no wind to speak of. Road out past the cattle, then down Rocky Ford Road to the Blue River and then the Western Heritage Trail, up into my more usual stomping grounds of the lake campsites. The trail is part of the upcoming Manhattan Marathon. From there it was Blue River Road, which becomes Junietta and goes over the big hill into Pott County. Home then by way of the Linear Trail, the new-ish Knox Lane Trail and a bit of the trail along Marlatt.
