The weather is nice. In the 60’s, winds from the South East. Perfect for a Willow Springs n Back ride. I thought it was going to be colder than expected. I ended up removing my knee warmers and skull cap, before the ride started. The legs felt fresh from the start. I had a tailwind going up OTR, and made it to the summit in good time. I pulled over to check my GoPro battery status. It was at about 75% with over 21 minutes of recording. I put the camera in 2.7k mode. With Protune and stabilization. Interesting that the battery life lasted longer in this mode, but the disk space used was more (to be expected). I had a head-wind on the way out to WS. I kept the tempo steady. Mostly moderate. I crossed paths with a cyclist as I was just starting the descent. When I reached the turn-around point, I checked the batteries on the GoPro. It was at 45% at that point. I knew I had enough to get back onto OTR without swapping the battery out. The return trip was enjoyable. It went fast, given that I had a tailwind, at that point. I crossed paths with the same cyclist at around half a mile, or so, from Tucker. The last kickers felt good. With the help of the tail-wind, I was able to push over the top. The descent was a treat. I reached over 40MPH as I was pushing on the pedals. From there it was getting back to OTR. Mostly fun and games. I stopped one more time to check the GoPro battery. It showed the low battery warning. So, I swapped the batteries out and finished the ride. Concentration was good. Ailments, next to none. Perhaps some mild soreness in the stomach. Nothing detracting. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked flawless.
