This is another coastal loop, but with less climbing than the Two Capes Ride. Started with a 6 mile loop around the Woods area. This ends up back in Pacific City. A good viewing place is Cape Kiwanda, but it was packed. The ride follows Kiwanda Drive to the intersection with Sandlake Rd. Continue straight on Sandlake Rd through Tierra Del Mar, Sitka Sedge Natural Viewing Area and Sandlake. At the junction with Cape Lookout Rd, go right to stay on Sandlake Road for a 1.4 mile gradual climb. Typically, there is some degree of tailwind on Sandlake Rd after the climb, but today it was a headwind. Sandlake Rd ends at Highway 101. Turn right onto 101 south and ride for about 10 miles, through Beaver, Hebo and to Cloverdale. Continue on another 0.7 miles to Jenck Road. This gets you 101 for a bit and is a secondary road through farms. The road ends at 101. Turn left onto 101 for another few miles. Ride past the Brooten Road turn-off and continue to Little Nestucca Road or Highway 130. Turn left onto 130 and ride 1.7 miles to Meda Loop Road. Turn right and follow this to the junction with Redberg Rd. Meda Loop Road is paved, but has plenty of potholes and rough spots. There are several rollers as well. Redberg Rd is a little worse and has a climb. The road ends at highway 101 again. Go right and head north to the Brooten Road turn-off and return to the start.
