Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Two reasons I didn't want to get out to ride. #1, the weather did not permit. It snowed overnight, so the streets are soaked. #2, I felt a bit un-recovered on the previous ride. I decided to do a modest indoor workout. I chose a route in France that was just over 15 miles. It had about 400 feet of climbing. The road undulated very gently. Somewhat boring, but the scenery was neat. The legs felt better than I anticipated. No sore muscles like the last time. I was able to ride with another rider for about 5 miles. It made me push just a bit more than I would have on my own. I put in two modest efforts on timed sprint segments. Otherwise, I would call this a recover ride. I won't ride again till the weekend, as I have an MRI scheduled on Friday. Concentration was good. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. I had about 1/4 of my Gatorade. No water. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some mild hand soreness. Other notes, there were about 5000 riders to start, 4000 in the finish. When I first opened the companion app, there were 20k riders riding on zwift.
