Grapefield w/ Rocky Gap short sightseeing excursions first.. Spring is coming on. Lots of red-buds, green grass, cows w/ calves. At least the 17-20° morning lows for those 2 days before last weekend didn't nip the tree buds & diminish flower displays. A few butterflies, a couple bees even. High muddy water & some noisy rapids after all the rain last week. Wore my new windbreaker shirt from Katy this past Christnas, love it, especially the trick pocket that took me 3 minutes to figure out & fetch the phone, hoping that the calves wouldn't bolt. A tiny bit noisy from small rustling flaps @ 30mph(+), but that's fine. But w/ spring come lots of BALMY BREEZES. And straight horizontal flags very common, so ~18mph(+) gusts. Lips got windburned. But rides every 2 weeks up till now don't get you very good times, especially when it seems like the wind is always coming at your face, & if you stop & start for 30 photo-ops. So very poor slow overall time. And when the Flyers game broadcast signal leaves while Philly is up 2-0, then is back on @ Philly up 3-2, only to hear them get 3 in the last 3 minutes as I approach Rocky Gap. Not good for motivating a fast finish. But I did get to hear part of the game at least. Still haven't found our newest veterinarian's new house on Clear Fork Creek Rd yet, & looked in earnest purposefully slowing the pace for those last 5 miles into RG. Maybe next time. May try to get in a short ride in the cemetery across the street in the AM.
