Today was a fantastic day for a ride. The rain has gone away and left partial clouds, in the low 70's and winds from the north west. I wore a thin base layer, otherwise, standard kit. I felt good from the start. I made it to the top of the descent in above average time. I cruised the downhill. Out of the saddle for the risers, otherwise, no heroics necessary. I think I did average time to the base and was eager to get the climb going. After about 3 or 4 minutes, it became apparent that I was going to feel good. I think half of which was due to the air temperature and wind conditions. I did good tempo most of the way. Dropped it to moderate to recover. As usual, I burnt most of my matches on the steeper sections and over the loop monument. from that point, I kept my momentum going. I was out of the saddle often. Concentration was very good. I was in the zone, especially on the ascent. Balance and form was real good. I had a good sense of symmetry today. Ailments consisted of mild lower back soreness, of which did not detract from my impetus. Gear is working well. No problems with the gopro stopping. I've yet to adjust my saddle height or installation of the cleats. Other notes, I saw about 3 train carts derailed, just before the 58 fwy tunnel on the descent. I saw a snake that appeared 3 feet in length (curled) and black and white stripes. I was tempted to stop, but I was having a good day climbing, so I didn't want to upset my momentum.
